The Foothills Story
Nicole and Nathan had nearly 40 years of combined veterinary expertise in country and city vet practice not only in Australia but also in the US and UK. They designed a brand new, truly pet friendly hospital with additional values of being eco-conscious, innovative and family friendly with the aim of delivering the best care possible to the pets of Perth.
Starting out with a team of three nurses and two vets, the Foothills team have grown to 13 nurses and 6 vets who are all equally passionate about providing a high standard of veterinary care to thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds and wildlife. We are grateful for being involved in sharing the love between owners and their pets. This journey takes us from cute puppies and curious kittens to optimising healthcare in adult life through to saying good bye to so many in the last moments. To be able to help the animals and their loving owners during those good times and bad is why we do what we do.
In 2014 we were awarded Startup Business of the Year Award and the Presidents Award for Innovation by the Business Armadale Community.
In 2016 we became accredited as a ISFM Cat Friendly Hospital, the International Society Feline Medicine hospital accreditation scheme. We pride ourselves on providing low-stress handling techniques when it comes to all of our patients including cats. Cats are welcomed with their own waiting area and consulting room, Feliway diffusing, a selection of treats, cat grass and cat nip and a trickling water fountain to help them relax.
We are also fortunate to have a beautiful outdoor consulting gardenw hich is perfect for nervous dogs. Complete with a grassed area, sitting area and a water fountain, both dogs and owners are able to relax in a tranquil environment.
In 2017 we were finalists in the Business Armadale Awards for Employer of Choice
In 2018 we were awarded the Hospital of Excellence an Accreditation an ASAV Accredited Hospital, a national veterinary hospital accreditation scheme.
In 2018 we also said goodbye to Dr Nathan Mannix as he and his family moved back home to the USA. We wish him and his family well on their new adventures and they will always be a special part of the Foothills family.
